The Gates

So, the reason I’ve neglected the blog so much over the past couple months is I’ve been working on a TV series for ABC called The Gates. ABC recently started airing promos for the June 20th premier:

I worked the first four episodes and now I’m off to Detroit, MI for Harold and Kumar 3. Yes, Harold and Kumar 3. I’ll be finished and back behind my camera full time in late August. In the mean time I’m still accessible via phone. Please don’t hesitate to call! I’m still booking for the rest of 2010 and of course all of 2011.

Landlocked Bride

Britt Tucker is a web developer and a bride-to-be. About a year and a half a go she started blogging about her wedding planning experience with LandlockedBride.com. She has done an excellent job keeping her blog updated with great wedding ideas from the Midwest and around the country.

She also happens to be a big Cardinals fan. When she stumbled across one of my photos from Betsy and Josh’s wedding at Busch Stadium, she blogged about it. I just wanted to say thanks to Brit for mentioning me. If you’re getting married in the Midwest you should check out her blog.

I’m kinda hoping maybe she’ll mention me again?

Perhaps my “Trash The… Shoes?” post will make it on Tuesday Shoesday?

Or maybe she’ll be impressed by my Fish Eye Fun photos?

The Studio

Earlier this week I got a call from Brian. He and his fiance Debbie are getting married in September. I decided to invite them to my studio for the consultation, which at the time had ONE canvas gallery wrap hanging on the wall. He said sure! So I had three days to get the space presentable and I needed help. Fortunately Diversified Lab was running a special on prints above 16×20. Not only was it inexpensive but they got my order completed in less than 12 hours!

I also got some help from my good friends Holly and Nathan. Holly brought her design expertise and painting skills to the table. And speaking of table… we also hit an antique mall and found a AWESOME dining room set for a steal at Treasure Island on Manchester! Nathan helped out by spending a couple hours in his Sunday morning pickup up the new furniture and helping me drill some holes in my concrete and brick walls.

And as much as I don’t like shopping at Walmart… they did have the cheap 20×30 frames that I couldn’t find anywhere else on such short notice.

I climbed down off the ladder after adjusting the track lighting about 30 minutes before David and Debbie showed up. Just in time to take a very needed shower.

I really enjoyed my time with David and Debbie too. Even if they decide to go with someone else for their photographer, I’m thrilled to have met them. They gave me the incentive to get my butt in gear and make the space what it is. I’m very proud of it.

I had a GREAT weekend in Nashville at PPA’s ImagingUSA conference. I will write more about it later on Ben’s Photo Biz Blog but for now, here is a shot of all the hand outs and stuff I walked away with. I certainly learned a lot.

Thanks to Paul Nordmann and Kurtis Hall of Nordmann Photography for driving me around and putting up with me.
