Overcast skies and a little rain didn’t keep Emilie and Brian from having a fun engagement session at Washington University, Forest Park and Fitz’s! I love going to places that are significant to a relationship for pictures. They both went to school at Wash U and their first date was at Fitz’s. Love it. Looking forward to their wedding this summer in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The wonderful Sarah Corbett of Soulscapes Photography will be joining me too!

I don’t normally post stuff “off topic” but I saw this short film today I’m compelled to share it.

I have nothing to do with it, the people that made it, or the young man it’s about… other than the way it made me feel.

I think everyone should watch it.

When hatred and bickering seem to be taking over… when people can’t seem to ever respect or listen to each other… when our politicians and leaders can’t seem to just be people first… watch this film.

It’s always flattering when I’m hired to photograph a wedding, but it’s particularly flattering when the bride or groom knows their way around a camera. Steve works at Creve Coeur Camera and I think we spent more time “talking shop” at their consultation than we did about the wedding.

Janette and Mary were married on a beautiful Friday afternoon in October. The 28th of October actually. If you’re a Cardinals fan, you know what that means.

They did not let the distraction of Game 7 of the World Series diminish their celebration in any way.

Even if you’re not a baseball fan, I think it’s a law somewhere that if your wedding is on the same day a Game 7 of the World Series, you have to stop by Busch Stadium for some photos. We even managed to get interviewed by ABC news!
