When I realized the theme for week 8 was “fierce” I wished I could use my picture of Charlie again. Instead, I had to get a little fierce with my studio lighting and me. It’s not my favorite entry in the showcase but I had fun with it.

Amanda and Josh were married on Saturday at the Four Seasons hotel in downtown St. Louis. It’s a wonderful hotel for a wonderful couple.

Amanda has the most beautiful blue eyes (she gets them from her mother) I could shoot them all day long. I can’t wait to finish editing their photos!

This is probably my favorite ring shot ever.

Gwen and Jake got married this afternoon. I’ve known Gwen for a little over five years and I don’t think I’ve seen her happier. Jake is a lucky man!

As with the “rough” theme I tried to convey both rough texture and rough motion. With “green” I went with color and environmentalism. This photo was taken at the Downtown Tower Grove Farmers’ Market. I even rode my bike to the market to take the picture.

I was surprised that there weren’t more photos of produce entered… and I was even more surprised to learn I took the top spot in the professional division. Kudos to the student and amateur divisions! They took all the over all top spots.

I’m pretty sure these to ladies had a lot to do with planning the shower.

As usual… I can’t resist the kids.

Ashley hired me to shoot her bridal shower at Pheasant Run in O’Fallon. It was a great afternoon filled with tons of smiles and laughter (my kind of people). After the shower was over we headed over to a restaurant where we met up with “the boys” including her fiancé Dan. Dan is a great guy and it’s clear Ashley can’t wait until their wedding in September. The tough part about Dan is, he does NOT like having his picture taken. When he finally agreed to step outside for a few minutes, I will admit I was a little nervous.

I know Ashley is excited to see her pictures from the shower and I planned on posting a “Just One” photo from it, but I think she’ll appreciate this one instead. Look for the rest of the sneak peek later this week.

Oh, when photographing a man who does not like having his picture taken… let him keep his beer!

What’s neat about this shot is… This is the only Shell Silverstein poem I remember the words to from reading it when I was a kid… “Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Too, went for a ride in a flying shoe…”
