My photo took the top spot in week 5 of the St. Louis Photographers Showcase! It’s very flattering especially when the other photos were so good. Look for my week 6 entry soon… the theme is “green.”
His parents finally got their proofs… a lot of them! So now I get to post a few of my favorites! Little Charlie and his mom and dad were so easy to photograph, I had a hard time cutting down their images to a manageable number.
What’s neat about this shot is… This is the only Shell Silverstein poem I remember the words to from reading it when I was a kid… “Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Too, went for a ride in a flying shoe…”
Sarah and Nate are getting married next May. I met with them a few weeks ago to go over their contract and collect their retainer. A couple of days later when I was doing my deposits for the week, I couldn’t find their check to save my life. It’s a bit embarrassing but they were really sweet and understanding… in addition to covering the cost of the stop payment on the check I offered to do a quick mini-session since we’re waiting until the fall to do the full blown engagement shoot.
Just shooting with them for 15 minutes on a muggy Friday afternoon makes me excited to shoot with them again.
The tough part about mini-sessions is just as we’re starting to get warmed up… it’s time to stop!
Destroying your wedding dress is not for everyone… but for some, it’s a great way to use the dress again and get some stellar photos in the process. I had never shot a “Trash The Dress” session but I wanted to… so I did.
I asked myself what would look really good (or bad depending on how you look at it) on a wedding dress? The first thing that popped to mind was… motor oil.
The idea quickly grew into the story you’re about to see (either in the video slide show or just the image gallery itself). I enlisted the help of fellow photographer Abbie Rudolph of Abbie Takes Pictures and together we produced what ended up being quite a production. We worked together on the project but the images you’ll see on my websites are mine only. Abbie is a busy woman, she’s still working on hers. 😉
